President Maia Sandu’s message with regards to the organisation of the EPC Summit

President Maia Sandu reiterated Moldova’s commitment to successfully organising the European Political Community (EPC) Summit.

The EPC Summit will take place on 1 June 2023 in Mimi Castle, Bulboaca. This year’s summit’s host, President Maia Sandu, will welcome 50 European heads of state and government and top EU officials. They will address issues of common interest and work towards strengthening the security, stability, and prosperity of the European continent

Speaking at the Presidential Palace, the President highlighted the importance of the event, stating that "it provides an unparalleled forum, giving small and large countries, both inside and outside the EU, an equal voice in discussions."

The President added that “this summit offers an exceptional opportunity to affirm [Moldova’s] unequivocal commitment to the reforms we are carrying out in order to become – in the near future – a member country of the European Union.”

In relation to the regional security situation, Sandu said that “the diplomatic support provided by this event is invaluable” in showing that Moldova will not be abandoned, and that peace and democracy will be protected.
